I am honored to serve as the chairman of the University of Florida Board of Trustees.
UF has been accomplishing extraordinary things for our students, our state and the broader world. We recently achieved our goal of earning recognition as one of our nation’s top ten public universities and are on our way to the top five. It’s not about the rankings, though. It’s about the impact we can have and what recognition as one of America’s leading research universities reflects and enables.
With a physical presence in all 67 Florida counties, the University of Florida is a deeply engaged $6.3 billion education, research, and service enterprise that improves the lives of more than 54,000 students, 30,000 employees and countless people beyond our campus who look to us for cures, scientific breakthroughs, and economic and agricultural innovation.
Our world-class faculty, staff and students depend on, and are grateful for, the committed support of our state’s Governor, Legislature and Board of Governors. By working together, the Board of Trustees is confident that President Fuchs and Gators everywhere will lead UF to sustained recognition as one of the very best universities in America.
